CONGRATULATIONS TO THE EASTERN GROUP OF COMPANIES ON YOUR 50TH ANNIVERSARY.

Congratulations on reaching this incredible milestone: 50 years of service, growth, and impact.
For half a century, the Eastern Group has been more than just a business. You have been a steady presence in Guayaguayare and across the southeastern region, providing jobs, supporting families, and helping entire communities find stability and hope through changing times.
Staying in the game this long in the Caribbean means something. You have weathered economic storms, shifting policies, political transitions, and natural disasters. Each time, you came back stronger. That kind of staying power only comes from deep values like discipline, service, integrity, and loyalty.
You did not wait for incentives or recognition. You built. You invested in your people. You stayed rooted in your community. That loyalty means a lot.
As a former MP, I have long called on the private sector to step up in regional development. The Eastern Group did not need to be asked. You quietly got on with the work and built something that matters.
The decision to hold a Thanksgiving Service says it all. In a time when so much is uncertain, choosing gratitude over grandstanding reminds us that humility, faith, and community still hold power.
On a personal note, this moment carries deep meaning for my family as well. The Paray and Phriday families have a long-standing relationship built on mutual respect and kindness. Zita Phriday was my Sunday School teacher. Her early lessons in faith and compassion are part of who I am today.
So this celebration is not just corporate. It is personal.
Like the Eastern Group of Companies, the Paray Group—CTSL, Mayaro Family Medicine, Genesis Diagnostics, ShopMCTV, and Palki Restaurants—has remained loyal to community and the people we serve. That shared sense of responsibility and connection continues to shape how we do business.
To the leadership team: thank you for standing firm in the hard times.
To the staff, past and present: this is your win.
To the families behind the scenes: your sacrifices are real and seen.
And to the people of Guayaguayare: this is your story too.
I wish the Eastern Group continued strength, purpose, and the clarity to keep building for the next 50 years.
